Stressors

July 8, 2009

Not even knowing where to start. I guess my biggest stresser right now is the fact that I feel I am becoming a bit depressed again. I guess the fact that I realize it is the good thing. I think some of the problems causing it is losing both of my grandparents in the last month and seeing my father go through one of the hardest times of his life. One of the hardest things for me is that I have nobody here to talk to about it, so I sit by myself and cry, feeling sad and alone. I'm not sure what to do though. I have looked into going to a counselor here but I fear it may cost too much money, something of which I do not have. I have to start making my student loan payments pretty soon and so now I'm just lost.... whatever
My stress scores:
You score is 574.
You have experienced many events over the past year that might lead to stress. Your responses put you in the "high risk" group. Approximately two thirds of individuals with this score may go on to develop a stress-related illness or accident the following year. You may not be able to control certain events in your life, but you can adopt behaviors to help you manage stress. Here are some steps you can take to help manage stress:
Use the Stress tab of our Progress Tracker tool to record your stress level. Record how you feel about any stressful events you've experienced.
Stay active! Getting regular exercise has been demonstrated to help counter stress. Use your program to help you stay motivated.
Get support! Talk to family, friends and coworkers about what's causing you stress. Also, consider counseling as an additional way to combat stress.
