From the Rower to the Table: Finding Strength in Sharing

Today’s post (January 8, 2005) feels like my 2,600-meter row—hard at first, but freeing as I go. Thanks for joining me. Let’s see where this takes us!

🚣‍♀️✨ Disclaimer: That’s not me on the rower, and I definitely didn’t look that graceful during this morning’s workout! But I couldn’t resist sharing this picture because it perfectly captures how the experience felt in my mind.

I haven’t really posted much or talked openly about the fitness journey I’m on, but I’ve decided it’s time to start sharing. Today’s workout felt like the perfect place to begin—because I felt proud.

This morning, I powered through 2,600 meters on the rowing machine! For perspective, that’s like rowing the length of two train cars—specifically, Echo told me it's the equivalent to the Shikoku 2600 series train in Japan! When Matthew and I did the math, we realized that’s about 8,530 feet—which sounds even more impressive when you say it out loud! 🚆💪

Why This Journey Matters

For a while now, I’ve been quietly working toward becoming stronger—physically and mentally. I’ve kept it mostly to myself because, truthfully, I wasn’t sure how to share it or if anyone would even care. But I’ve realized that sharing isn’t about seeking validation—it’s about letting others into the process and maybe even inspiring someone who’s facing their own mountain to climb.
No, I’m not where I want to be yet—but I’m headed in the right direction.

Small Wins Add Up

Today’s 2,600 meters was more than just a number—it was a reminder that progress doesn’t always look like huge milestones. Sometimes, it’s about:
  • Consistency: Showing up, even when it feels hard.

  • Resilience: Pushing through moments of doubt.

  • Perspective: Celebrating even the smallest victories, because they matter.

What’s Next?

I’m learning that this journey isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress. I’m setting goals, staying motivated, and leaning into this process one step—or one row—at a time.

This is just the beginning of me sharing more about my journey, and I’m excited to see where it leads. I’d love to know how you stay motivated or what goals you’re working toward. Let’s cheer each other on.

Here’s to rowing forward, one stroke at a time!

P.S. This post was created with a little help from AI—because even at Bre’s Table, collaboration comes in all forms.
